Privacy policy

Effective November 7, 2026

Still is made by Imran Syed. This policy explains what happens to your photos, your voice notes and everything else you keep in Still. The short version: it all stays with you.

The promise

Your photos

Still asks for access to your photo library so it can show your photos and let you pick one to talk about. Your photos stay in Apple Photos. Still never uploads or copies them anywhere.

When you tell the story of a photo, Still keeps a small preview of it (about 400 pixels wide) next to your voice note. That way the memory still has a picture if the photo is later deleted from Photos. The preview stays on your iPhone, and in your own iCloud if you turn on iCloud sync.

Your voice notes, words and feelings

Your voice notes, their written words, the titles you give them and the feelings they name are stored on your iPhone.

To write down your words, Still uses Apple's speech recognition. On iOS 26 and later this happens on your iPhone. On earlier versions of iOS, or for a language your iPhone cannot handle on its own, Apple's speech recognition may send the audio to Apple to be written down. That is covered by Apple's privacy policy, and Still has no access to it.

iCloud sync (Still+)

If you turn on iCloud sync, your memories are stored in your own private iCloud, so they are backed up and appear on your other devices. Only your Apple Account can read them. We cannot see them, and Apple's iCloud terms apply. If you turn sync off, nothing is deleted from your iPhone.

Sharing

Nothing leaves Still unless you choose to share it. When you use Send to family, Still makes the video on your iPhone and hands it to the share sheet. Export everything creates a file on your iPhone that you can save or send wherever you choose.

Notifications and widgets

The daily prompt is a reminder scheduled on your iPhone. Widgets show a memory from your iPhone. Neither one sends anything anywhere.

Purchases

Still+ is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment, and we never see your payment details or your name. Still only learns whether your subscription is active.

Crash reports

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. They never include your photos, voice notes or words.

Children

Still is not designed for children under 13 to use on their own, and it collects nothing from anyone.

Deleting your memories

Delete a voice note from its "..." menu. Deleting Still removes everything it kept on your iPhone. If you used iCloud sync, you can remove Still's iCloud copy in the Settings app, under your name, then iCloud, then Manage Account Storage.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
